What to expect with our Bed Bug Service
To ensure success, preparation is critical. Before your appointment, we’ll send you a step-by-step preparation checklist. Following this guide helps maximize the effectiveness of treatment.
Stand Mattresses and Box Springs
Stand mattresses and box springs against the wall and disassemble beds as much as possible.
Clean and Remove Clothes and Plush Items
Remove all cloth and plush items (except upholstered furniture) and launder them.
Arrange Furniture
Move furniture to the center of the room, leaving space around the perimeter.
Remove Outlet Covers and Frames
Remove outlet covers, switch plates, and picture frames.
Cover Fish Tanks
Cover fish tanks with a towel and turn off the filter.
Remove People and Pets
People and pets must leave during treatment and remain out for at least 3 hours.
Remove and Clean Items
Do not return any items (book bags, purses, shoes, books, etc.) until they’ve been thoroughly cleaned.
- Stand mattresses and box springs against the wall and disassemble beds as much as possible.
- The room(s) should be empty of all cloth and plush items, except plush furniture. If possible, the pillows of plush furniture should be removed and laundered.
- Move furniture to the center of the room leaving a perimeter.
- Remove outlet covers and switch plates on all walls.
- Picture frames should be removed from the walls and cleaned or treated.
- People and pets must leave the area during treatment and wait the stated amount of time (at least 3 hours) before reentering.
- If there is a fish tank in the household, it should be covered with a towel and the filter turned off; fish are very sensitive to many pesticides.
- All clothing, linens and other items must be cleaned (free of bed bugs) and kept isolated until the bed bug problem is eliminated.
